Only 2 launches, with a serious south crosswind (25 knot gusts at one point) for most of the day, that only just abated enough for them to get away. But they turned out to be 2 really worthwhile flights into S/SW wave, accessed from the Dallas ridge. Colin T took R67 off first and came back having bagged his Sliver height with a gain of over 4400 feet, while Stuart was away for nearly 2 hours in HYJ with a visiting friend of Alexander's from Austria.
Apologies to our followers for the lack of postings over the past few weeks. The weather has been rubbish for soaring for most of September; as an example, the guys who headed off to the UKMSC had NO cross country days for the whole week - the first time in 20 years of the comp. Still some reasonable "off-comp" flying and height gains going around, but a disappointing week altogether.
Great to see Andy and Jules at the club today, back up from Bicester for a wedding tomorrow and saying a quick hello.
